He's one of the three points which compose the triangle of the prophecy. He represents Madness.
Careless and brave, reckless and defiant, Syndag is an orphan – he doesn't know his parents and where he comes from. He arrives in Aghrem as a little kid, and the villagers immediately begin to consider him a strange boy, because he boasts that he can talk with fairies. Syndag lives for the glory, to behave as the mighty warriors he only read about, dreaming about becoming a hero.
He loves Norje, who is the only who really believes in him.

Wise king of the Southern realm, he lives in a modest castle and he loves studying history and literature. In his enormous library there are many ancient codes, among which he would find the piece of map which will help Hasius and Midar in their quest for the Sword.
At the end of the story we discover that the king, just as Syndag, has demon blood in his veins.

She would be a perfectly normal girl, but for her gorgeous green eyes and her profetical powers. Alwer is the most powerful seer in Dynerall, and she receives the prophecy about the Sword Of Ice And Fire.

He's one of the three points which compose the triangle of the prophecy. He represents Wisdom.
Sage wizard, calm and rational, Hasius is the guide of the fellowship and tries to decipher every little sign which may help them to find their way to the Sword. He is so powerful thanks to the harsh training he had during his youth, guided by a severe and wicked Master.

He's one of the three points which compose the triangle of the prophecy. He represents Bravery.
Midar the Warrior is the opposite of Hasius. Happy, lively, impetuous. He is the chief of Andisagrus' Royal Guard and he loves food, horses and women. During his training he was often mocked by his companions, because of his frailness and ostensible incompetence: therefore he sees a part of himself in young Syndag and he gladly lets him joining their fellowship.

Until the first half of the story, we don't know if Veryan the Fairy really exists. Many people imagine that she is just a vision of Syndag's mind, because she can be seen only by the boy. However, in the caves of Gronaem, she shows her powers to protect the fellowship from the evil spells covering the Sword. From that moment on, Hasius and Midar know for sure that Veryan really exists.
She also knows that Syndag has demon blood in his veins, but she allows the boy to discover this by himself.

She's Syndag girlfriend and she lives in Aghrem. She always tries to talk Syndag out of his dangerous feats, fearing for his health. Hasius and Midar break Norje's heart when they arrive in Aghrem and ask Syndag to join them, but she persuades her boyfriend to go with them, allowing him to follow the destiny he has always dreamt of.

Fergor is a demon, and he was forced to live in the dungeons where the Gods closed his people after the Ancient War. Unchained by one of the fiercest enemies of his race, Henril the Angel, he find himself on Earth and decides to join Henril in his quest for the Sword, only for the sake of his people. He is killed by Syndag in the caves

The angel is the Prime Minister of King Olwys' court. Even if he says he hates the gods for their carelessness towards every living creature, Henril actually yearns for power. For years he has studied the demons race, hoping to free them and chain them, using the Sword Of Ice And Fire, to conquer the world. He manages to free Fregor from the dungeons and he persuades him to help find the magic Sword. He is killed by Syndag in the final battle.

King of the Western kingdom, his lineage must protect the secret of the Sword. He is the only living creature to know where the Sword is and how to reach it. Hoping to save his daughter Fylgia, Olwys breaks his vow and reveals the secret information about the Sword.

Olwys' daughter and heir, Fylgia is seized by Fergor and Henril and used to blackmail the King. But she's brave and she'd rather sacrifice her life than reveal those secret information. Her father gives up anyway, hoping to save her. She is killed with the King by the wicked Henril.

Princess of the Elves, sister of Princess Edoin. She's young and curious and she often puts herself in danger exploring the woods. During one of her wanderings she's attacked by a boar and saved by Syndag. To thank him, Lagan and her sister allow the boy to look in their magic mirror, which has the power to show the real aspect of people's soul.
