He makes his first approach to classical music playing violin, at the age of 5. After only a year he switches his violin for a cello (“It’s less tiring, you can play it seated!” he said), but he still doesn’t like it. The sparkle arrives when Matteo finds his grandma’s old accordion, and that fire still burns today! He get his diploma with the teacher Ivano Battiston, in Florence, and he starts playing “rock accordion” joining Oversea Orchestra and AnDante Orchestra. He also likes gipsy and klezmer music and, therefore, he plays with “Gipsy Ensemble”, together with his brother Vieri, a great violinist.
When he meets Marco Quaranta he joins Aurea Sectio rock opera, in 2012, and he also starts loving metal.
